Which one do you need?
“My sheets never fit — the corners keep pinging off”
Usually mattress depth, not width. A deep pocket-spring mattress needs a deeper fitted sheet than the one sold for a standard bed. Measure the depth in inches and buy to that.
“The bed was made by a carpenter and nothing fits it”
Very common here, and the linen is ready-made, so it is a matter of buying to the measurement rather than having it stitched. Measure the mattress in inches — length, width and depth — and go to the nearest size up, never down. A flat sheet forgives an odd size far better than a fitted one, and a deep fitted sheet copes with a few inches where a shallow one won’t.
“I want the room to change without repainting”
Cushions, a runner and a bedcover in one palette will shift a room more than most people expect, for a fraction of the cost of anything structural.
“It’s for a rental or a guest room”
Buy two sets of everything in the same colour. It halves the laundry problem and a stain on one piece doesn’t retire the set.
Talk it through
Come and lie on a few. Twenty minutes in the showroom settles firmness better than any description, and sizes are quoted in inches. The showroom is open Monday to Saturday, 11am – 8.30pm, or answer five questions and we’ll call you back knowing what you need.
