Before you ask
Common questions
the ones that come up before anyone picks up the phone
If yours isn’t here, ask on WhatsApp — a real answer to your window beats a general one every time.
What we do
Do you do small jobs, or only whole houses?
Both, and most of what we do is the small end — a pair of curtains measured properly, a blind that fits the window it was cut for, a sofa recovered rather than replaced. Turnkey interiors are the other end of the same business. Nothing is too small to ask about.
Do you make the curtains yourselves?
Curtains and upholstery are made by us, and custom furniture is built to your drawing. Blinds, wallpaper, panelling, flooring and tracks are supplied and fitted by us. Mattresses, pillows, bed linen and rugs we buy from the manufacturer and sell — we don’t make those and won’t say we do.
Do you work with interior designers and architects?
Yes, and a good share of our work comes that way. You specify, we make and install, at trade terms and under your name. We don’t approach your client.
I’m abroad. Can you furnish a flat I’m not in?
We do it often. You send photographs, we tell you what will work, we measure once there’s access, and samples go to whoever is on the ground. The one part that genuinely doesn’t work remotely is judging fabric off a screen — colour and weight both photograph badly, so get samples into someone’s hands before signing off.
Do you take on hotels, offices and commercial work?
Yes — hotels, resorts, yoga and wellness spaces, clinics and offices, alongside homes and villas. Contract work is specified differently from domestic: one specification repeated across every room, and builds that survive daily turnover.
Who actually does the work?
The same people who quoted it. We do not hand a job to a third party and step back — measuring, making and fitting are all ours, which is also why there is nobody else to blame if it goes wrong.
Measuring, quotes and prices
How are curtains priced?
By the panel. A panel is roughly one width of fabric, and how many a window takes is what decides both the cost and how it hangs. Stitching is charged per panel too. If another quote is half the price, that is almost always where the difference is — ask both quotes how many panels per window and what lining is behind them.
What units do you work in?
Inches, for windows and for mattresses, because that is how everyone here asks for them. If you send a measurement in centimetres we’ll convert it rather than make you.
Can I get a rough idea of cost before anyone visits?
Usually. Send a photograph of the window on WhatsApp with a rough width and drop and we can tell you the range and what will and won’t work, before anyone travels. A firm number needs a real measurement.
Is measuring free?
The measuring is free; the visit is ₹500, and it comes off the final bill if you go ahead with the work. It covers someone’s time and travel across the city, and it is the only thing we charge for before a job is agreed.
Do you charge separately for installation?
Yes, separately, so you can see what it costs. We keep no margin on it — the amount goes straight to the people doing the fitting.
How much advance do you take?
An advance confirms the order and books the fabric, and the balance is due before installation starts. What the advance comes to depends on the size of the job, and it is written into the quote rather than sprung on you later.
Do the prices include GST?
Yes. Every quote is inclusive of GST, and you get a proper tax invoice under Hexie Homes LLP — GSTIN 36AAOFH9581R1Z5.
What payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer, UPI or cheque. For larger amounts we would rather it went by bank transfer, so the trail is clean on both sides.
Do you provide samples?
Yes — we can send them or bring them, and you should look at them in the room they are going in. Colour and weight never look the same on a screen as they do on your own wall at four in the afternoon.
How long will it take?
Most windows leave the workshop 7 to 14 working days after the measurements are signed and the cloth is approved. An indented cloth, a villa of sliders or a hospitality order all run longer, so the date on your quote is the one to hold us to rather than that range. Measuring, making and fitting are all ours, so there is no third party to blame for a delay.
Do you measure, or should I send measurements?
We measure. A window measured by anyone other than the person fitting it is where most problems start — send your own numbers for a rough quote by all means, but we’ll check them before anything is cut.
Fabric, fitting and afterwards
What is the warranty?
Our own fitting is guaranteed for three months — if something we installed comes loose or sits wrong in that time, we come back and put it right at no cost. Beyond that we don’t carry free repairs, though we will always tell you what it would take and what it would cost. Where a product carries a manufacturer’s warranty — blinds, tracks, motors — that passes to you in full and runs for its own term.
Can I bring my own fabric?
No. We work only with fabric we have supplied. Controlling it from the start is the only way we can be sure how the finished curtain will hang and how it will wear.
What if I need to cancel or change the order?
Before the fabric is cut, most changes are straightforward — tell us as soon as you know and we will usually just adjust it. Once a length has been cut, that part of the order cannot be cancelled, because the fabric cannot go back. After fitting, a major change is new work and is quoted as such.
Do you repair or re-fit old curtains and blinds?
No. Reviving curtains or blinds that have been up for years is not work we take on, and that is true whether we supplied them or somebody else did. Recent work of ours is a different thing — if something we fitted has come loose or sits wrong, tell us, and the warranty answer above says where you stand.
Where we work
Which parts of Hyderabad do you cover?
All of it, and past it — out to Shankarpalle and Mokila, and as far south as Maheshwaram and Shadnagar. If your address isn’t on the site, it isn’t a problem; ask. For the far edges we plan one trip properly rather than making several.
Do you have a showroom I can visit?
Yes — House No 536, First Floor, Road No. 12, NBT Nagar, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, opposite Triumph Motorcycle Showroom. Open Monday to Saturday, 11am – 8.30pm, closed Sunday. Worth coming in: fabric in daylight tells you more than any photograph, and mattress firmness can’t be judged any other way.
Do you work on Sundays?
The showroom is closed on Sunday — we are open Monday to Saturday, 11am – 8.30pm. Site visits and installations are normally booked Monday to Saturday too. If something is genuinely urgent, ask; we would rather discuss it than turn it down flat.
Mattresses and bedding
Who do I talk to about mattresses?
Mattresses, pillows, bed linen and hotel bedding are handled by a different person on +91 95732 84811. Start a mattress enquiry on the site and it reaches them directly rather than going through the interiors side.
Which mattress brands do you stock?
Sleepwell, Peps, King Koil, Springfit, MM Foam and Centuary, across foam, spring, latex and orthopaedic ranges. Being able to compare across brands in one visit is most of the reason to come in.
My bed is an odd size, made by a carpenter
Very common here. Measure the inside of the frame in inches — length, width and depth — and we’ll have a mattress made to that rather than forcing a standard size in. Bed linen is ready-made, so for that you buy to the nearest size up, never down.
For designers and architects
How do trade terms work?
You specify, we make and install, and the work goes out under your name at trade pricing. We do not approach your client or follow up with them.
Do you keep the relationship confidential?
Yes. The project is yours. We speak to the end client only if you ask us to, and when we do it stays under your direction.
Can my client visit the showroom?
They can, though we would rather they came with you or with clear instructions from you. It keeps selections and pricing straight, and stops two versions of a decision existing at once.
Is there a minimum order for trade work?
No. A pair of curtains and a full turnkey package are both worth having, and the same team handles either.
