From abroad
Furnishing a Hyderabad home you can’t stand in
you shouldn’t have to fly in to hang a curtain
A lot of what we do is for owners who are not in the country. Flats bought off-plan in Kokapet and the Financial District, villas being made ready for parents, homes let out until a return that keeps moving. The hard part is never choosing a fabric — it is trusting someone on the ground with the keys and the money.
How it works
- 1Tell us what we’re working withThe project name and unit number are usually enough for us to know the building, and often the floor plan. A photograph from anyone with access fills in the rest.
- 2We measure on siteWith your family member, your builder, or the society’s caretaker letting us in. You do not need to be in the country, or awake.
- 3A video call, held over the fabricFrom the showroom, at an hour that suits where you are. Fabric moves and catches light — a photograph of it tells you almost nothing, and a video call tells you most of what standing here would.
- 4A written quote, itemisedRoom by room, so you can cut or add without renegotiating the whole thing. Nothing starts until you say so.
- 5Photographs as it goes upNot a progress report at the end. Sent as the work happens, so if something is not what you pictured, it gets changed while it is still cheap to change.
- 6A walkthrough video at handoverThe whole place, filmed slowly, before anyone moves in. It is also what you send the tenant or the family member who arrives first.
The things people actually ask
“I take handover next month and I land in December”
Then the work happens between those two dates and you walk into a finished flat. This is the most common version of this job, and the only thing we need early is access.
“My parents are in Hyderabad but I’m the one deciding”
They can come to the showroom and see everything in person while you join on video. It works better than either of you doing it alone — they judge the feel of a fabric, you judge the scheme.
“It’s an investment flat and I need it let quickly”
Different brief: hard-wearing over beautiful, neutral over personal, and quick to make good between tenants. Say so and we will quote it that way rather than assuming you want your own taste in it.
“How do I know I’m not being overcharged from this far away?”
An itemised quote before anything starts, and a rate per window and per metre rather than one number for the flat. If a line looks wrong you can question that line. That is harder to do with a lump sum, which is exactly why lump sums are common.
“I’ve been let down by someone in Hyderabad before”
We hear this often. What we can offer is that the people who quote, make and install all work for the same company — so nobody is blaming a subcontractor you have never met and cannot reach.
“Can you post samples out to me?”
Not abroad — we don’t ship outside India. Samples stay in Hyderabad: anyone representing you can collect them from the showroom, or we bring them to the flat when we come to measure. For your own eye, the video call does more than a swatch in an envelope anyway, because you see the fabric at full drop rather than as a four-inch square.
“How would I pay from here?”
We don’t take overseas payments, and in practice that has been less of an obstacle than it sounds. It is settled in India — either from your own account here, or by whoever is representing you. Worth agreeing at the quote stage rather than at handover.
Start from wherever you are
The quickest opening move is a WhatsApp with the project name and, if you have one, a photograph of a window. We will tell you what is realistic before anyone travels or pays for anything.
If you would rather set it out properly first, answer six questions and we will come back to you knowing the job. Whichever hour you send it, we will reply in ours.
