How to send a picture that prints well
Set your phone camera to its highest resolution before you shoot. Most ship on a lower setting and you lose three quarters of the detail without being told.
On an iPhone, if Settings → Photos is on Optimise iPhone Storage, the copy on the phone is a small one and the real picture is in iCloud — and the small one is what gets sent. Open the photo and let it load fully first, or switch to Download and Keep Originals. Google Photos does the same under Storage saver.
Never send it through WhatsApp as a Photo. Attach it as a Document, or choose it here.
Anything saved from Instagram or Google Images is almost always too small for a wall. If it is a painting or an artwork, ask whoever made it for the print file.
What we check before we print
A picture that looks sharp on a phone can be soft across ten feet of wall, and the only honest time to find that out is now. The calculator above works out how many pixels land on every inch of your wall and tells you where you stand: above 100 it is sharp at any distance, 72 is clean from across the room, and below 50 we will not print it at that size.
It also catches the two ways a good picture usually arrives ruined. WhatsApp shrinks a photo to about 1,600 pixels and throws the rest away, so the copy in your chat is not the picture you took. And on an iPhone set to Optimise Storage, the full picture is in iCloud and only a small one is on the phone — which is the one that gets sent.
What is not included
Wall preparation. If the wall has never been primed, paper will not stay on it — we have had to put a painter on a wall the same morning to save a handover. If yours needs priming, filling or a damp check, we quote that separately once we have seen it.
Printing starts only after we have measured and you have approved it. Because it is cut to your wall it cannot be returned once that happens, which is the same position as any cloth we cut — the questions page has the full terms.
